Discussion (3)

  1. If your brain had a door, what would the welcome mat say?
    Have you made an appointment?
Have you noticed that ideas usually come at a time when it is least practical? You are in the middle of doing something, the idea pops into your brain, and you have to try and stop the idea from dissappearing.

If aliens invited you to live on their planet and try alien food, would you go? Why or why not?
Of course, it’s probably been made by giant corporations on Earth.

Imagine your pet gave you life advice — what would it teach you about being open-minded?
It knows exactly what is important in life. Nothing else matters.

If you had to switch lives with a cartoon character for a day, who would you pick and what might you learn?
Asterix, and the art of learning how to be invincible.

Would you rather only listen to podcasts forever or try a new genre every day—even if it’s something you don’t like?
The best podcasts are available in the Brida Pavillion.

If you met someone who believed pizza grows on trees, how would you respond without sounding rude?
Who knows? Maybe we should give them the benefit of the doubt. If they can show a picture…photos never lie, so they say.

Can being open-minded help you become friends with a chicken? Why or why not?
Of course. A chicken will only see what it wants to see, never say anything…actions speak louder than words.

  2. If your brain had a door, what would the welcome mat say?
If my mind had a door, the welcome mat would say “Teach me somethings new!”. Teach me about your culture, your language and your country.

If aliens invited you to live on their planet and try alien food, would you go? Why or why not?
Yes I would go with them because I want to be the first to visit the aliens. I think they live on Mars and maybe they eat insects or broccoli and I would try the alien food only if I’m very hungry.

Imagine your pet gave you life advice — what would it teach you about being open-minded?
I think my cat will tell me to take more naps because with more naps I can focus better at school.

If you had to switch lives with a cartoon character for a day, who would you pick and what might you learn?
If I can switch lives with a cartoon character, I want to switch with Velma in Scooby-Doo because she is very smart and she can solve many problems. I think she can teach me how to concentrate on one thing at a time.

Would you rather only listen to podcasts forever or try a new genre every day—even if it’s something you don’t like?
I think I prefer to try a new genre every day because its cool to discover new songs or the artists, even if it’s something I don’t like.

If you met someone who believed pizza grows on trees, how would you respond without sounding rude?
I would tell you, that the pizzas don’t grow on trees and we make pizzas.

Can being open-minded help you become friends with a chicken? Why or why not?
No, I can’t because the chicken can’t speak so we can’t communicate with each other. Communication is important to grow a friendship. It is important to talk about our ideas and feelings to understand each other.

  3. If your brain had a door, what would the welcome mat say?
My welcome mat would say: “Come in, sit down and calm down”, with a small “welcome” at the bottom. If you are looking for an adventure and a fun time, my brain is the place to be, but please don’t touch or break anything because I don’t have time to clean the mess. You might feel slightly overwhelmed by my thoughts and might feel the need to question everything – please remain seated and please remain calm.

If aliens invited you to live on their planet and try alien food, would you go? Why or why not?
If alien invited me to live them, I would say yes, I have the experience to deal with aliens – animals changing genders and then a husband and six year old who turn into aliens from time to time and do unbelievable things come to mind. Trying their food? I am not too sure about it, it depends what they are serving. Do they eat humans? Or do they eat green, gross jelly blobs – that is what I think and i dont know what is in the jelly.

Imagine your pet gave you life advice — what would it teach you about being open-minded?
My dog would say – Take many naps, eat as much as you like, chase the lizards and wee on everything that is not moving and bark at all moving things. Well, this is what he does, causing me some frustration at times but he seems to be the happiest dog on earth, smiling all the time and wagging his tail endlessly. But I think it would teach me to be more open-minded because in a way, I have to accept what he does. He is too old to be taught otherwise.

If you had to switch lives with a cartoon character for a day, who would you pick and what might you learn?
My cartoon character would be my old time favourite – Tweety Brid from Looney Tunes. I used to love Tweety as a child. I can learn how to be more witty, also smart and how to avoid or solve difficult situations I find myself in some times – just like Tweety.

Would you rather only listen to podcasts forever or try a new genre every day—even if it’s something you don’t like?
I would choose any genre of music, even if it is something I do not like. I listen to lyrics (words) and the melodies (music) and if I like one of them, the song goes into a playlist, if I like both the melody and lyrics, the song is loved for weeks to months to years. But if I don’t like the music, the song will eventually end and I will listen to something new.

If you met someone who believed pizza grows on trees, how would you respond without sounding rude?
I would explain to them in a nice way that pizza does not grow on trees but maybe some ingredients grown on plants. And I will explain that you have to make a pizza with dough and then add your own toppings – maybe even show them how to do it, if they still don’t believe me.

Can being open-minded help you become friends with a chicken? Why or why not?
I think anything is possible once you set your mind on it – I have watched a cartoon with my son, Archibald’s Next Big Thing, the main character is a chicken and he is friends with a bee. They don’t understand each other but they find a way to communicate and learn from each other. Maybe I have been watching too many cartoons…
