   You can see many great churches and the skeleton of St. Patroklus. He is the patron saint.  The town ramparts (the city walls) with towers. There are many Patrizia Houses, half-timbered houses, the Soest lake with the water mill. We have several parks, the Allerhaelegen Festival, Folk festival.

   Yes, you can take good pictures of Soest. You can take good pictures of the town from the city wall.

   We live in central Nord-Rhein-Westfalen, near to the Arnsberger Forest near the Sauerland.

4. Do you like living in Soest? Why?
   Yes, I like living in Soest, because ….tradition,  nine days rain and one day sunshine. This weather is good for the farmers, the potato farmers.  We have good food from the farmers. Vegetables, potatoes, white cabbage, green cabbage (also known as kale), red cabbage, (it looks like white cabbage, but the leaves are red), cauliflower, red cabbage with dumplings, Walter eats dumplings in Bavaria. Walter will visit Ingolf when the weather is good.

   Soest is a modern city with old town picture. What is modern in Soest? : We have new streets and a good infra structure.

6. How many inhabitants does it have? (How many people live in Soest?)
   We have 40,000 people. But Soest was in the Middle Ages the second biggest town in Germany after Cologne.
   Cologne was the biggest town.
   Soest was the second-biggest town. Soest was a rich town on the trade route from west to east.

7. Why is it called Soest? (Where did the name Soest come from?)
   The old name of Soest is Susato. The first people in Soest were salt miners.  Soest comes from the word salt.
